When Chef Meny Vankin opened Marcel Bakery & Kitchen in 2017 it was an expression of love.
Not only about his love for the simple food he grew up eating, but also a love for the community that had treated him so well.
After the immediate, runaway success of MishMish Cafe in Upper Montclair, Chef Meny had a new vision. Fast-casual—but with soul. With heart. A kitchen that asked you to engage with each other as much, if not more, than you did with the food.
